I was very fortunate to have revealed the cover of Touch on our blog.
Check out our Q&A with Jus.
Enjoy!
Check out our Q&A with Jus.
Enjoy!
1. What book is your favorite to reread?
I can reread Nightlife by Rob Thurman and Bitten by Kelley Armstrong and
NEVER get tired of either. They're my comfort books.
2. Were there any specific songs you listened to while you wrote Touch?
I can reread Nightlife by Rob Thurman and Bitten by Kelley Armstrong and
NEVER get tired of either. They're my comfort books.
2. Were there any specific songs you listened to while you wrote Touch?
Each character, and the book itself, had a separate playlist. It ranged
from Poweman 5000, to simple instrumental pieces (mostly for Kale). There
was Pink, Secondhand Serenade, Rob Zombie, and Black Lab, to name a few.
3. Do you have a favorite chapter or scene in the book?
Well, I love the scene where Kale is in Dez's room for the first time. It
was so much fun to write. I was listening to Black Lab's This Night when I
started it and I really think the song inspired a lot of the feeling
behind the scene. It was origonally going to me much shorter and
not nearly as detailed, but the song brought out so much more.
4. Aside from Kale and Dez who are your favorite characters?
Well, Alex is great. He's got all these good intentions, but nothing ever
really works out the way he plans. And Ginger... Ginger is just
awesomesauce!
5. What's one thing we can look forward to in the sequel?
Dez and Kale have a hell of a ride in store. Some characters are going to
really surprise people, I think. They're all in for rocky times and not
everyone is going to handle well. Betrayal, secrets, mistakes, oh, and
someone might die ;)
Author Bio:
Jus Accardo is the author of YA paranormal romance and urban fantasy
fiction. A native New Yorker, she lives in the middle of nowhere with her
husband, three dogs, and sometimes guard bear, Oswald. Her first book,
Touch, is due out in November 2011 from Entangled Publishing. She is
represented by Kevan Lyon of Marsal Lyon Literary Agency.
Touch Blurb:
"When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet,
seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity
to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue
eyes home.
Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower,
is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll
turn to dust if he touches her. It's not until Dez's father shows up,
wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez
realizes there's more to this boy - and her father's "law firm" - than she
realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation - an organization devoted
to collecting "special" kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons -
his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. Dez and Kale team up
with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they're
caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez
has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect."
